The Government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, presided this morning in the Delegation the act of condemnation of the last male crime committed in Spain, after the statement of the same by the Government Delegation against Gender Violence, of the Ministry of Equality.
The delegate lamented the murder of Karilenia in the Asturian town of Sama de Langreo, and conveyed his condolences and solidarity with the family and loved ones of the victim of this crime, who also leaves orphans to two minor children. The delegate reiterated the Government’s commitment to continue working together with the other administrations and society in the elimination of violence against women and the promotion of equality: “We need to remain united and united to fight machismo and negationism.” At the end of this statement, a minute’s silence was observed.
The machista murder of Karilenia is the first recorded in Spain this year 2025, and raises to 1,294 deaths due to machista violence since there are national records.
