The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, held this morning a working meeting with the executive director of the NGO FIET, Ezequiel Escobar, accompanied by other leaders of the organization.
María Rivas highlighted the work of the NGO, which receives support from the Ministry of Equality, to rescue and improve the lives of women victims of trafficking. "The Government, collaborating in projects such as those of this entity, demonstrates its commitment against trafficking in women and girls, working for their well-being and protection," said María Rivas, who took the opportunity to remember that yesterday she held a meeting with the Provincial Prosecutor's Office of A Coruña to advance coordination to improve the protection, investigation and treatment of victims of this crime: "We work tirelessly to improve the lives of these women."
The FIET NGO has been operating for years in the province of Cordoba in the rescue, defense and restoration in society of vulnerable women and girls, victims of trafficking or who were sexually exploited. During the year 2024 this NGO helped more than 330 women in Galicia, most of them in the province of A Coruña.
The deputy delegate congratulated its members for their efforts and encouraged them to continue expanding the important social work they do.
