The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, held on Wednesday a working meeting with the director of the headquarters of the National University of Distance Education (UNED) in A Coruña, Ana Mónica Novo, with whom she reviewed the works and objectives of the center for this new year.
In this regard, the subdelegate highlighted the enormous contribution of this center to training in the province from its headquarters in A Coruña, in the Prison Center of Teixeiro (Curtis), where in addition to training throughout the year they offer a summer course, and also in rural areas, where UNED has a pioneering program, the Senior University, which is being very well received.
María Rivas also thanked Ana Mónica Nuevo for the contribution of UNED to the integration of people with functional diversity (40% of people with disabilities study at UNED) and also for the collaboration in carrying out the tests of the oppositions of the General Administration of the State or in the practices of criminoloxy in the police stations of the National Police and Civil Guard in Lonzas, a collaboration that both the subdelegate and the director of UNED in A Coruña agreed to reinforce by exploring new lines of action.
