The deputy delegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, highlighted the action of the Government of Spain in O Bolo, providing his Concello with tools to attract population by facilitating their access to housing. The subdelegate presented the document of the Housing Plan, promoted by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, together with the mayor, Alberto Vázquez, and the councilwoman Mayra Martínez.
Eladio Santos stressed the municipalist nature of the Government of Pedro Sánchez, whose action reaches each and every one of the municipalities of Galicia and Spain. This way of working is the basis of the Government’s spirit, “focused on leaving no one behind and giving a future to each and every one of the populations of this country,” said the deputy delegate.
The report presented in O Bolo analyzes the housing situation in the municipality and presents its future strategies, establishing the possible financing lines for 2025. “Thanks to the hard work of the Concello, dedicated to improving the lives of its neighbors and neighbors, and the unfailing support of the Government, O Bolo guarantees its future,” said Eladio Santos.
Government support for access to housing
The City of O Bolo, with this document drafted, will be able to apply for all the subsidies that are developed in the field of housing. It is a document, therefore, of work, which insists on the commitment to the future, on the brake on the loss of population and on the economic dynamization guaranteeing the right to housing of the inhabitants of O Bolo and the region.
The project is funded by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, within the framework of the State Plan of Access to Housing 2022-2025, to which is hosted O Bolo. It is a pioneering plan in Galicia, which aims to analyze the situation of the current housing, both from the point of view of its conservation and its use, and projects the strategies and programs to which the municipalities can be welcomed in the future for the financing of the use of public housing through rehabilitation, energy efficiency improvements and accessibility. It also provides new rental possibilities for the private initiative.
The Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge financed investments in Galicia worth about 530 million euros, through rental programs for new people, housing rehabilitation in municipalities with less than 1,000 inhabitants, aid to people in vulnerable situations and women victims of gender violence. This Plan also establishes the rehabilitation of 13,400 homes in Galicia.
