Silleda, December 20, 2024.- The subdelegate of the Government, Abel Losada, visited Lamela, at the foot of the exit of the AP-53, to announce to the mayor of Silleda, Paula Fernández, that the efforts initiated by the City Council to improve the link between this exit and the N-525 road, have borne fruit with the announcement by the General Directorate of Roads of the drafting of a project. The visit took place on the ground, where the favorable impact that this improvement will have was verified, since the link between the exit of the highway and the national road runs through municipal roads with a completely insufficient section.
Abel Losada congratulated Paula Fernández for having promoted this action by taking advantage of her dual status as mayor of Silleda and deputy in Congress and agreed that it will represent a significant improvement in the quality of the service provided to the entire neighborhood of Silleda, which will enjoy much more appropriate access, but also for the neighborhood of Lamela itself, which until now suffers from the problems generated by traffic due to insufficient roads.
Paula Fernández explained that this action was first proposed at the headquarters of the Government Subdelegation, in Pontevedra, to the heads of the State Road Demarcation in Galicia and then “worked” for months with the Ministry of Transport itself, “you are all with the aim of finding a viable alternative that responds to the demands of the area without causing the hobbies that generated previous proposals.” “I must thank the atmosphere of dialogue and cooperation that I found in all instances,” said the mayor.
The proposed link is located south of the current access and offers a more direct and fluid connection, avoiding the passage between the houses and solving the problems of section and firmness of the existing track. The final design will be known when the project that the Ministry has already confirmed is going to be implemented. There is already a first assessment by the Demarcation of Roads in Galicia and now it is time to wait for the end of the technical work.
AP-53 Tolls
On the other hand, Abel Losada celebrated the announcement by Minister Óscar Puente that in the first part of next year the AP-53 bonus scheme will come into force, #replicate the successful model put into practice in AP-9, that is, the bonus of 75% of the amount of tolls for recurring users and 50% for occasional users. The subdelegate indicated that “this is what really matters to people, beyond artificial polemics about AP-9 with a clear partisan aroma and driven, curiously, by the same people who extended the AP-9 concession until the year 2048.”
Abel Losada stressed that in the AP-53 there was “evident discrimination and the bad decisions made in the past by other governments very different from the current one, which advocates the recovery of the concessions that expire and to cushion the impact of tolls in which they still have a temporary route ahead.” The subdelegate recalled that the Government that presides over Pedro Sánchez is going to allocate 7.6 million euros to finance the bonuses in the AP-53 and stressed that this is one more reason to support the General Budgets of the State for 2025, so he was “convinced” that the representatives of Deza in the General Courts will vote in favor of Budgets for 2025: “Paula Fernández is going to vote in favour, without a doubt, and I suppose the mayor of Lalín, in front of this novelty so important for his city council and the whole region, too.”
