The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, attended this morning the events on the occasion of the commemoration of the day of the Patroness of the Air Force, La Virgen de Loreto, which took place in the Aerial Quartering of the Barbanza EVA-10.
The subdelegate stressed that the EVA 10 is responsible for obtaining, processing and transmitting radar data for interpretation by the Control and Air Command Groups. It is therefore an installation of strategic importance both for national defense, and for the control of both military and civilian air traffic.
He also recalled that in this year, they will buy 40 years of the installation of the radar of this Aerial Quartering of the Barbanza.
The events were chaired by the Chief General of the Air Surveillance and Control System, D. Eliseo Pérez Gómez, and the Commander-in-Chief of EVA-10, Javier Marcos Barreiro.
During the military act, there was the imposition of decorations and the delivery of professional training certificates.
They received the Cross of Aeronautical Merit: Sergeant 1 Adrián Fuerte Mon, Corporal Samuel Quintana García, Soldier Juan Luis Tomé Martínez and Soldier Senén Villaverde Salgueiro. Deputy Lieutenant José María Fernández Reyes received an Honorable Mention.
The golden cross to constancy in service was imposed at last and in the end 1st Manuel Enrique Martínez Rodríguez and Corporal Francisco Javier Eiró Correa; the silver cross at last and in the end Pablo Emilio Seco Paz; and the bronze cross to soldier Eduardo Diego Goti Sano Martin.
The event ended with the tribute to the fallen and a parade of the forces that make up the EVA-10 Quartering on Mount Iroite of Noia.
