The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, recognized this afternoon in Ames “the enormous creative talent” of the Galician audiovisual and took advantage of his participation in the award of the AmesAVLab Awards to reaffirm the commitment that the Government has with him. Pedro Blanco congratulated the winners, highlighting their work and highlighting their talent, and thanked the mayor of Ames, Blas García, and the president of the Provincial Council, Valentín González Formoso, for promoting the initiative, fruit of the collaboration between these two administrations and their commitment to culture. Both also participated in the award ceremony, which took place this afternoon.
Pedro Blanco highlighted the positive impact of projects such as the AmesAVLab, “an example of impetus for the Galician sector, which is called to become a national and international reference in audiovisual production”. He pointed out that this impulse is supported by the Government of Spain, which provides economic support “strengthening the Galician audiovisual ecosystem” and enabling projects and initiatives that incorporate new filmmakers, such as those awarded at Ames, promoting innovation and diversity.
The delegate highlighted the action of the Ministry of Culture with respect to the audiovisual of Galicia, making possible its projects with the financing of feature films in which nine Galician companies participate through the Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA). This entity comes from resolving the second procedure of general aid for the production of long films on the 2024 project for an amount of more than 31.6 million euros (2.6 M€ corresponds to the Recovery Plan), of which 4 million go to Galician producers and raise the almost 6 million euros to total aid granted this year by the Ministry of Culture to the audiovisual production of Galicia.
