The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, highlighted the commitment of the Government with Arteixo, the Galician city council that receives more funds from the Recovery Plan, which materializes in actions such as the railway link to the external port of Punta Langosteira, with an investment of 165 million euros, or more than 6 million for actions in the field of infrastructure, mobility and environment.
This respect, María Rivas pointed out works such as the enhancement of the spa and its environment, with more than 600,000 euros of the Government Recovery Plan for the humanization of the streets and the rehabilitation of the chapel; the about 800,000 for the humanization of the Avenida de Caión, whose works come to end; the improvement of the accessibility to the Uxes station, which adds an investment of 2 million euros; the more than 200,000 euros for the improvement of the telecommunications network of the city; the more than 900,000 euros of the Biodiversity Foundation for the conservation of the ecosystem of the rivers Bolaños and Abedul of the city.
“These investments are designed to improve the quality of life of Arteixo’s neighbors,” said the deputy delegate, who also stressed the importance of the Recovery Plan funds reaching all municipalities, allowing them to act on multiple fronts and with objectives as diverse as equality, mobility, trade, digitalization, etc. And that in all of them there is a common line, which is the improvement of economic dynamism and sustainability.
Local Security Board
María Rivas had the opportunity to review this and other actions with the mayor of Arteixo, Carlos Calvelo, with whom he presided over the Xunta Local de Seguridad, in which they analyzed the main security indicators of the municipality.
In this regard, the subdelegate highlighted the work of the Security Forces and Corps, which a few weeks ago dismantled several drug outlets in Meicende in an operation with several detainees. He noted that, compared to the previous year, the number of crimes fell slightly, and the level of clarification increased significantly. In particular, he indicated that the improvement in the resolution of serious and less serious crimes is 2.46%, in light crimes 7.42% and in prison offenses 4.38%.
The Xunta Local de Seguridad included a point on the data on gender violence. The subdelegate reported that at the moment, in the province of A Coruña there are 2,651 victims within the VioGen system, to which Arteixo is attached.
The subdelegate insisted on the need for loyal collaboration and cooperation through the VioGén system to “fulfill the commitment to work constantly to protect them and their families” and recalled that the City Council received from 2018 a total of 118,609.97 euros, 22,558.05 in the last year, for the realization of activities to promote equality under the State Pact against Gender Violence.
