The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, presided this morning at the meeting of the qualifying jury of the works presented to the 40th edition of the Contest of the Constitution, organized by the Subdelegation of the Government in Ourense to commemorate the 46th anniversary of its validity.
Open to students of all educational levels, on this occasion the works should be on article 47: “All Spaniards have the right to enjoy decent and adequate housing.” Thus, more than 1,700 students from public and private centers throughout the province presented their creations in this edition. The students of early childhood education, primary education and special education presented 1,510 works and those of ESO, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training and the University of Vigo, 209.
Among the educational centers that delivered their works in this edition are the CEIP of Seixalbo, El Puente, Os Blancas and Viana do Bolo, the Divine Shepherd of the Boat and the Marist Schools, A Purísima, Maestro Venid, Padre Feijóo Zorelle, Carmelitas, Franciscans, Santo Ángel de Ourense and the CPR María Inmaculada de Verín.
The government’s deputy delegate took advantage of the meeting to highlight “the exceptional participation of this edition. We are delighted that the students are encouraged in this way to carry out work on a subject such as our Constitution, which is the fundamental rule of the State. In addition, addressing such a specific and current problem as housing, since there are many things to do to make this right truly universal,” he said.
The jury, which met this morning in the Subdelegation of the Government to analyze all the works, was chaired by the subdelegate and formed by the Secretary General of the Subdelegation, Manuel Arias; the Councilor for Education of the City of Ourense, Tamara Silva; the Inspector of Education of the Xunta de Galicia, Laura Pérez; the Deputy Director of the EASD Antonio Failde, Miguel Álvarez; and Jorge Pumar and Uxía Oviedo, representing the Popular Party and the Socialist Party, respectively. Valuing the originality and creativity of the creations and their artistic quality, they chose the 20 winning works, 10 for the lower category and 10 for the upper one.
The prizes will be awarded in the course of an institutional event, which will be held in the Municipal Auditorium of Ourense on December 6 at 12 noon. In the event, winners, participants, families and institutional leaders meet to commemorate the Day of the Constitution for another year.
