The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, today fired Fernando Martínez Marty, regional head of Operations in Galicia of the National Police. Pedro Blanco thanked him for his work and highlighted his leadership as provincial commissioner of A Coruña, a position he held from 2022 until a few months ago, consolidating the province as one of the safest in Spain. The delegate took advantage of the meeting to wish him a happy professional retirement.
Fernando Martínez Marty finishes, in this way, a long professional career within the National Police. Before taking up the position of regional chief of Operations in Galicia, he was provincial commissioner of A Coruña, chief commissioner of the Central Brigade of Crimes against Persons in the Central Unit of Specialized and Violent Crime or commissioner of the Spanish embassy in Cuba. In addition, he is a graduate in Criminoloxy, with a master’s degree in Public Security, and an expert in Islamist terrorism.
