The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, accompanied today the ambassador of Spain to UNESCO, Miquel Iceta, to the inauguration of the international congress ‘Fontes-World Heritage: Knowledge to preserve’, which seeks to promote the candidacy of the Ribeira Sacra to World Heritage.
The delegate, who thanked the ambassador for his presence in this event, which was also attended by mayors and mayors of the 26 municipalities of the region, took advantage of the celebration of it in the Parador de Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil to highlight the effort that the Government is making for the recovery and enhancement of the historical heritage in the community.
In the same vein, he pointed out the importance for Galicia of the inclusion of the Ribeira Sacra in the UNESCO World Heritage list and pledged all the support of the Government to make it soon a reality.
