The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, and the mayor of Boqueixón, Ovidio Rodeiro, advanced this Tuesday in a solution for the improvement of mobility on the N-525 road as it passes through the nucleus of Lestedo. It was in the framework of a meeting held in the Government Delegation and in which María Rivas, deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, and the head of the Road Demarcation of Galicia, Ángel González del Río, were also present.
During the meeting, the City Council was informed of the forecasts of improvement of road safety at the current intersection existing at PK 327+860 of the N-525 road. At this point, it is planned to transform the current intersection into a channeled ‘T’ (with central lanes for left turns) with the provincial road DP-1202, on the crossing of Lestedo, into a complete roundabout that, on the one hand, allows all traffic movements and, on the other, allows an adequate moderation of speeds at the entrance to this urban center. The project must be submitted to the Public Information process.
The municipal interest expressed by the City of Boqueixon in the acquisition of the old house of peones camineros located in the P.K. was also not addressed. 331+540 of the N-525, in the Sergude area. This property, currently managed by MITMS, is in the process of registration as a step prior to its disaffection and transfer to the City Council for public purposes.
