The Mi⦅⦆ -Sil Hydrographic Confederation (CHMS), an agency under the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, has convened all the owners of the lands affected by the works of improvement of the environment, accessibility and ethnographic heritage of the Caselas River as it passed through Tui on November 19, 20 and 21 in the Plenary Hall of the City Council for the lifting of the minutes of occupation.
This is the first step to advance in this project that contemplates the restoration and enhancement of the mills of the Middle, the Castañar de Arriba and de la Seña and the construction of a pedestrian path parallel to the Caselas River. This new trail will join the river route also projected in the town hall of Salceda de Caselas.
The project involves an investment of more than 935,000 euros and is co-financed between the Government of Spain, which will assume 80% of the cost, and the City of Tui, responsible for the remaining 20%.
The deputy delegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, stressed that this first step in the administrative processing, prior to the execution of the works, “brings closer the recovery and enhancement of the Caselas River and demonstrates, once again, the commitment of the Government for the town of Tui”.
In this regard, the subdelegate highlighted the work being carried out by the CHMS in the recovery of natural and ethnographic heritage in the province and recalled that in recent years this agency invested more than 370,000 in the Tudense municipality to build the pedestrian walkway at the mouth of the Rubio River or eliminate invasive species in the Cotarel River, among other initiatives.
