The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, presented this morning the materials of the information campaign promoted from the subdelegation that will reach the 93 municipalities of the province.
The subdelegate highlighted the important role played by municipalities to deal with male violence, since they are the administrations closest to the citizens, for this reason she considers it essential to continue looking for collaboration formulas to accompany the activities carried out by local bodies.
It is in this context of institutional collaboration that this campaign consists of bringing to them materials in diptych, triptych or brochure with information on the State’s resources against male violence is framed.
Specifically, 2,500 copies of the informative materials on the system of monitoring by telematic means of the prohibitions of approximation imposed in the field of gender violence and sexual violence will be distributed among the 93 municipalities; the telephone service 016 of information, legal advice and immediate psychosocial attention by specialized personnel; the telephone service of Attention and Protection for victims of violence against women (ATENPRO), a service that, with the appropriate technology, offers the victims immediate attention, 24 hours a day, 365 days; and ALERTCOPS, a free mobile application, created from the General Subdirectorate of Public Security Systems and Communications.
This material can be used by municipalities in their activities related to the prevention of male violence, especially those scheduled for November 25.
The subdelegate stressed that this campaign complements the new transfer of funds from the Pact of State against gender violence, which this year leaves in the municipalities of the province of A Coruña 762,935.24 euros to develop equality policies, awareness actions and activities aimed at achieving a more egalitarian society and with zero tolerance with male violence.
María Rivas stressed the importance of collaboration between the administrations and, also, with the security forces and bodies, calling to continue deepening it “to provide an effective service focused on the best assistance to women victims.”
María Rivas highlighted the unequivocal commitment of the Government in the fight against male violence, materialized in the more than 82 million euros invested in Galicia since 2018 in actions to prevent and combat male violence. Of these, more than 73 million were transferred to the Xunta.
The subdelegate recalled in this regard, a new transfer of funds from the Pact of State last June that brings to Galicia 1,052,868.12 euros through 3 calls: personalized plans for women victims of gender violence and their sons and daughters, with 63,595.40€; programs to support victims of aggression and/or sexual abuse, with 529,755.36€ and program of right to comprehensive social assistance to victims of gender violence and care for minors, with 459,517.36€
