The subdelegate of the Government in Ourense, Eladio Santos, met this morning with Santiago Ferreiro and Cesáreo Fernández, president and manager, respectively, of the Provincial Association of Construction Entrepreneurs of Ourense, who conveyed to him the positive assessment made by the sector in the province of the important investment in public works that the Government of Spain is making and that they expect it to continue in the same line until 2027. For his part, among the demands that made him reach, the lack of manpower stood out.
The subdelegate received all these impressions and expressed to them the possibility of receiving regularized immigrants to solve the need for workers. In this regard, the representatives of the builders described as “very effective” the work done by the Office of Foreigners of the Government Subdelegation, but they demand that the procedures be expedited.
Spanish Association Against Cancer
Likewise, Eladio Santos also received today members of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in Ourense. Its president, Germán Rodríguez-Sáa; the vice-president, Olga Mojón; and the secretary, Pilar López-Guerrero, informed the subdelegate of the work carried out by this group in the province and of the continuous growth that it is experiencing, growing in number of partners and actions each year.
For the development of their provincial strategic plan, the representatives of the AECC took advantage of the meeting to request the collaboration of the Government Subdelegation, as they are also doing with the municipalities of the province.
Eladio Santos, for his part, highlighted the trajectory of the association in Ourense and wanted to show them that he considers that “the AECC is more than an NGO, since it provides an essential health service for the population, with psychological care and support for both patients and family members”.
