The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, encouraged the 37 municipalities of less than 10,000 inhabitants of the province to join the initiative of the public company Ineco, dependent on the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to promote digitalization.
The Ineco RuralTIC program invites these municipalities to host “digital nomads” in charge of training, who are willing remote workers who travel sharing their experience and training both the neighborhood and interested SMEs. For the link, the municipalities must have spaces for the realization of workshops with 4G connection. Municipalities can apply to participate in the ata program on September 30.
As Abel Losada explained, “in addition to demonstrating that teleworking can become a powerful tool for dynamizing the rural world, the program makes Ineco professionals available to municipalities to help improve technology-related needs.”
The “digital nomads” of Ineco put at the service of the inhabitants workshops on the management of online services for the realization of administrative procedures: medical appointment management, electronic banking, etc. As well as training to know aspects of internet security or the digital footprint. In addition, personalized care sessions can be developed according to the specific needs of the participants. Likewise, the program is also aimed at the rural business fabric, through the practical application of tools that can optimize the activity of small and medium-sized companies, such as the opening of a website or positioning in the digital world.
The subdelegate stressed that the initiative conceives “digitalization as a lever for social and economic transformation, by promoting training and support in the use of new technologies to the inhabitants of the rural environment, and especially to the elderly, and providing support and advice to the rural business fabric.”
The third edition of this initiative will start in November, when the company’s professionals will move to the first municipalities selected in the open call from today.
A pioneering program that is consolidated in Spain.
Ineco RuralTIC 3.0 is the new edition of this program that during the last two years and so far, managed to reach the nearly 100 municipalities thanks to more than 170 digital nomads that in a staggered way traveled throughout much of the national territory. More than 800 digitization workshops allowed close to 5,000 people and 500 SMEs to arrive.
The topics of the workshops given by digital nomads already cover aspects as diverse as the realization of podcasts, applications with artificial intelligence in the social field, digitalization for agriculture and livestock or advanced positions in advertising for local businesses.
