The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, today presided over the Security Board of the 55th Ferrol Rally, which will be held on August 23 and 24 with 126 registered, the highest figure in its history. Also this morning he chaired the meeting to ensure safety during the futsal match between the Spanish and Hungarian teams, which will also be played in Ferrol.
During the meetings, which took place in the Subdelegation of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas stressed the need and importance of coordinating efforts, resources and information between the administrations and Security Forces from the Subdelegation so that there are as few incidents as possible. The deputy delegate recalled that between 22 and 25 August Ferrolterra will host, in addition to the international futsal match and the Ferrol Rally, a Hypermotion League match of Ferrol Racing against Granada and the central weekend of the city’s festivities. “Precisely for this reason, the role of the Security Forces and Corps will be fundamental for the correct realization of all these events,” said María Rivas, underlining the effort and the “exemplary work” that all of them carry out on days like those of next week.
He emphasized the case of the Ferrol Rally, for the well-being of the public who come to witness the event and also for that of the neighbors to minimize the impact of the event in their daily lives. In this regard, evacuation routes that allow the passage of ambulances, if necessary, and also assistance to dependent persons are guaranteed.
The subdelegate highlighted the event, “because it is the great automotive event of the summer in the region, with years of history and prestige among those of all Galicia”. Today, all the security measures and devices that will be deployed on the days of the race were reviewed and supervised in order to ensure the correct development of the two stages of the Rally.

María Rivas also chaired the Security Board this morning on the occasion of the celebration of the friendly and international futsal meeting that will be held in the pavilion of the Malata de Ferrol, with capacity for 3,000 forofos, on August 22 at 8:30 p.m. between the absolute national teams of Spain and Hungary.
“From the subdelegation of the Government we will make an effort to establish a corresponding security device, together with the Local Police of Ferrol and in coordination with the Royal Spanish Football Federation, so that the stay of both teams passes normally,” said the subdelegate. This device will cover the movements of the Spanish team, paying special attention to the official training of both teams and, of course, to the celebration of the match itself on August 22.
The Security Board was attended by the acting chief inspector of the Local Police of Ferrol, Javier García; the head of the Citizen Security Brigade of the National Police of Ferrol, Mario Penalties and by the Royal Spanish Football Federation, the security coordinator, Antonio Ortega and the coordinator of the meeting itself, Jorge del Amo.
