The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, supervised this morning the works of the new roundabout that is being built at the intersection of km 513,670 of the N-6, in the city of Outeiro de Rei. He visited the area accompanied by the mayor, José Pardo Lombao, highlighting this action that will mean the improvement of road safety, financed by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda at a cost of 405,485.86 euros.
The subdelegate explained that “the intervention consists of the transformation into a roundabout of the current ‘T’ intersection of the N-6 road with the LU-115 autonomous road, which will improve its functionality by solving the important turning movements that are carried out there.” In this line, he defended the work “of a Government that is progressively solving the problems of the municipalities of the province, providing solutions in terms of infrastructure and reducing the dangers on the roads”.
The roundabout will therefore increase the road safety of the area, facilitating all movements and allowing to reduce the average speed of traffic as it passes through the Outeiro de Rei crossing, also having new safe pedestrian crossings at the three accesses to it.
In addition, it is contemplated the replacement of pedestrian itineraries, bus stops, drainage elements, signage, lighting and other services that are affected by the works of the roundabout.
