The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, presided over the act of presentation of the and the news 56 agents and inspectors who are incorporated into practices to the commissars of Coruña, Santiago, Ferrol and Ribeira, and reiterated the commitment of the Government to continue increasing the staffs of the National Police, which today reach the historic maximum of personnel in the Galician commissariats.
María Rivas stressed that almost half of the troops destined for Galicia, are incorporated in the 4 commissars of the province. There are 49 trainee police officers and 7 inspectors who will be assigned to police stations in the province, and who are part of the 116 National Police officers and inspectors who are incorporated in traineeships to police stations throughout Galicia.
In her speech, María Rivas highlighted the economic and budgetary effort of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to recover the loss of troops of previous years with calls that reflect a replacement rate of 125%. The subdelegate pointed out that this effort translates into the more than 18,000 places called for entry into the Basic Scale of the National Police in recent years.
The subdelegate highlighted the measures carried out to promote the incorporation of women and added the commitment “for the material, technical and infrastructure improvement of the National Police, and, of course, the necessary training and innovation, to always be a step ahead of crime”.
In the presentation to a subdelegate in A Coruña, María Rivas, was accompanied by the provincial commissioner of Police, Carlos Gómez.
At the beginning of the act, a minute of silence was observed in revulsion for the male crime committed last week in the city. The deputy delegate also had words of remembrance for the family of the deceased while expressing the most absolute revulsion against this type of crime, urging the new agents to redouble their efforts in the fight against gender violence and in the protection of women.
Practical training stage
This act marks the beginning of the training on the ground of the 56 policemen in practices that arrive in the province and that are part of the 116 that arrive in Galicia: 90 men and 26 women. Specifically in the province there are 24 police trainees who will serve in A Coruña, 9 in Ferrol, 14 in Santiago de Compostela, and 4 in Ribeira.
During the internship phase, which lasts eleven months, the police will obtain the level of professionalization required for the development of the functions of the police category. For this, they will serve in the citizen security brigades, judicial police, foreigners and borders, scientific police and information, as well as in the complaints office. Once this internship period is over, the agents will already be incorporated into their first job destinations.
Together with the police trainees, 7 student inspectors who are now starting seven months of practical training in police stations in Coruña were also presented as part of the Promotion to the Executive Scale Course.
