The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, visited the works carried out at the Post of the Civil Guard of Muxía. During the tour he was accompanied by the mayor of Muxía, Iago Toba, and by the Commander of the Civil Guard of A Coruña, Colonel Fernando Pedreira.
The works were aimed at repairing the structure of the roof and consolidating the facade of the housing block. Thus, the amount of the work amounted to 171,757.87 € starting its execution on September 27, 2023, and ending last July, as planned.
The improvement in the roof of the houses as well as the improvement in the system of external insulation of the same, offers greater comfort and energy efficiency in the facilities which undoubtedly results in the well-being of the agents of the Post, but also of the neighborhood to which they serve.
The subdelegate wanted to value this with type of actions, “this Government responds to the demands of the citizens, by providing the small villas with better spaces where the public servants provide their service, which is important in their quality of life, and in this case also in the security of the citizens.”
In this same sense, he said that the Government “continues to bet on making actions that are useful, such as the one I visit today in Muxía, and that always put at the center the needs of the people, and also of the public servants.”
María Rivas pointed out that the Civil Guard plays a fundamental role in rural and coastal municipalities such as Muxía, ensuring the safety and protection of people and the environment, working daily in crime prevention, environmental monitoring and assistance in case of emergency.
They also help in situations such as accidents, fires and protection of victims of gender-based violence. The presence of the Civil Guard in the municipalities contributes to the maintenance of the services to the citizens and to fix population in the nuclei with the homes located in the Posts like this one of Muxía. Thus, the effective collaboration between the Civil Guard and the Local Police has been shown to be fundamental for the safety of people living outside the large population centers.
In this regard, the Deputy Delegate of the Government stressed the constant coordination with the Local Police of Muxía and with the municipal leaders to work in a coordinated manner in the security of all and all the residents of the town.
