The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, certifies in Aguarentes de Galicia the quality of the Galician sector, after this firm achieved the recognition of best spirit drink in Spain by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. María Rivas congratulated the company from its facilities in Vedra, which she visited accompanied by its mayor, Carlos Martínez, and Miguel Ángel Gómez, manager of the company.
María Rivas praised the good work of the company, which she was able to verify during the visit. Not in vain, Aguarentes de Galicia was awarded for its local roots, use of traditional raw materials, effort in marketing and export and investment and bet without doubt on the research and development of its business and production model; according to the decision of the jury of this award.
Following the example of Aguarentes de Galicia, the subdelegate encouraged the entire sector to boost its businesses through the funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, and more specifically through the Agri-food Perte, “through which the concrete commitment of the Government is reaffirmed with the sector, which was at its side in the hardest moments of the pandemic or the war in Ukraine and which wants to continue to be so to promote its future.”
Regarding this aid plan and lend them to me, María Rivas recalled that the Government opted for the sector in Galicia by injecting more than 14 million euros to its transforming and innovative companies. In addition, he indicated that a new call is under way with 300 million euros, with the objective that companies can continue to strengthen, advance in the digitalization of their production processes and can be at the forefront of the sector.
Spanish Food Awards
The Spanish Food Awards seek to promote and stimulate the different elements of the food chain, recognizing the effort in marketing, innovation and rural development through sustainability and the elaboration of quality products. In the case of Aguarentes de Galicia, through its product Aguardera Vedra del Ulla, prize was awarded ex aequo together with pacharan navarro Besarana Black Label.
Aguarentes de Galicia, S.A. was born in 1992 with the intention of making distillates and liquors, betting from the beginning on quality, the use of indigenous raw materials and innovation to preserve the art of distillation in Galicia, incorporating water from the Ulla River into the distillation process. These values and actions led her to the award she has just received.
