The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, supervised this morning the state of execution of the works that are being carried out in the A-54. The actions of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility in relation to the extraordinary campaign that takes place in the four provinces amounts to 23 million euros, allocating 10.5 million euros of the total investment the actions in the A-6, A-8 and A-54, adding more than 285 kilometers between the provinces of A Coruña and Lugo.
The deputy delegate, who was accompanied during the visit of the Head of the Road Demarcation, Angel González Del Rio, stressed the commitment of the Government to improve the conditions of movement on the motorways of the province and of the whole of Galicia, a commitment that materializes not only through the construction of new infrastructures, but also through the maintenance of the existing ones. For this reason, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility will carry out during the summer period this extraordinary campaign of rehabilitation of the firm in several of the motorways of Galicia.
Specifically, 1,145 performances will be carried out throughout Galicia, along 535 kilometers of motorways. In the provinces of Lugo and Coruña we are talking about 590 actions along the A-6 as it passes through the community, and 24 actions in the A-54 that was visited today by the subdelegate.
Thus in the A-6 there were already performances in the municipalities of Arteixo, Carral, Abegondo, Betanzos, Coirós and Aranga. And on the A-54 in Santiago de Compostela. The amount of the actions carried out in the province of A Coruña is 4 million euros, 3.6 in the actions of the A-6 and 0.4 on the A-54 motorway.
This tender, worth 10,500,000 euros, aims to continue with the investments of the State in Galicia and in the province, in which it covers the maintenance of the entire road network giving priority also to improvements in security.
In this sense, María Rivas highlighted that 95.89 M € has been invested in the province of A Coruña by the Government since 2018, a figure that amounts to 380 in the whole of Galicia.
María Rivas wanted to highlight the commitment of the Government with Galicia “attending such demanded actions as that of the A-6, since it is the exit motorway from the north to the plateau that also crosses the entire province; or that of the A-54 that connects Santiago with Arzúa”, two roads of great importance for traffic and connections in the province “which shows that the Government is firmly betting on a safe network with greater benefits for users”.
