The delegate of the Government in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted the bet that the Government is making for the enhancement of the historical heritage with tourist use in Galicia, which is coming from a new aid of about 9 million euros that will allow, among other actions, the improvement of the carballeira and the park of the Botanical Garden of Caldas.
In this regard, the delegate took advantage of the institutional visit to the Concello, where he was received by the councilor, Juan Manuel Rey, to indicate that the Government’s aid in tourism “exceeds 200 million euros in the community and reaches one of every three Galician municipalities”. No case of Caldas, this new line of aid, from which the concellos of A Coruña, Boborás and Soutomaior also benefit, will allow, with a government contribution of 1,452,000 euros, the improvement of the Carballeira and the park of the Botanical Garden.
Pedro Blanco pointed out that, in terms of the value of the heritage of tourist use, the investments of the Government in Galicia amount to 65 million euros, since to these about 9 million euros must be added the 35 million of the actions in the establishments of the Paradores network or the more than 22 million euros of the Government Recovery Plan managed by the Xunta for actions in this matter.
The delegate congratulated the mayor of Caldas, Juanma Rey, for competing and having obtained these funds from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism through the Recovery Plan. “Caldas is a city council with history, with thermalism and a government team that is attentive to all opportunities to improve its competitiveness,” he said.
“The Government of Spain will continue to send European funds to the local world for tourism, infrastructure, environment, modernization or digitalization and municipalities, such as this one in Caldas, know that they can count on this Government, which is what transfers more funds and provides more support to them to carry out their projects,” said Blanco.
Other investments in the concello
This respect, the delegate said that Caldas “is also an example of obtaining funds from the Recovery Plan.” Thus, he recalled that Iberdrola and Foresa obtained between the two 8.5 million euros to build a green methanol factory and to develop new lines of ecological bioresins for the manufacture of wood derivatives through PERTE ERHA and PERTE of the Circular Economy, respectively.
He also reviewed with the mayor other government actions in the locality, such as the construction of the variant of the N-640 to the west of Caldas, in the informative study phase and the actions of conservation and improvement of this road and of the N-550 to the limit of the province of A Coruña, the latter with a budget of 8.73 million euros. These initiatives are in addition to others such as the UNICO Program, which allowed to bring high-speed internet to 242 businesses and homes in the municipality that did not have this service, or the more than 80,000 euros for actions within the framework of the State Pact against Gender Violence.
