The subdelegate of the Government, María Rivas, visited the facilities of the Public Employment Service in Ferrol, where the Government invested 1,144,600 euros, through the Renove Plan. Specifically, 532,000€ were allocated to the office of Esteiro and 613,600€ for the transfer of the office of Ferrol Centro. The deputy delegate visited the facilities this morning accompanied by the provincial director of the SEPE, Estefanía Pita.
The Renove Plan, which aims to carry out works of renovation, adaptation and repair of the facilities, centers and dependencies of the employment offices, also allowed to act in the offices of the SEPE of A Coruña de Monelos with an endowment of 800.850€, 537.930€ in the office of Cee and 1.030.000€ in Santiago Centro. Thus the Renove Plan invested in the offices of the SEPE of the province a total of 3,513,380 euros the last 4 years.
The deputy delegate also announced the creation of office 712 in Ferrol, a support office for the state network of benefit offices. With the implementation of this new office in the city of Ferrol, the Government continues with the decentralization of services. “This project, which is progressing at a very good pace and will be located in the city of Ferrol, will generate employment opportunities in Ferrol while strengthening the presence of public services,” said Rivas.
In addition, the subdelegate wanted to add value to the project “Training funding (microcredits)” for the training of employed and unemployed workers, through the implementation of training actions, from funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. They are grants between 600 and 700 euros, aimed at promoting or improving professional careers or employability, or for the acquisition of new skills for digital, green and productive transformation and for the realization of very specific training courses in the maritime field or, for example, the obtaining of driving licences for trucks and buses. Applications may be submitted until the end of September 2025.
María Rivas also recalled that since last March, all SEPE offices have been part of the network of safe spaces against gender violence promoted by the Government. Thus, it is necessary to highlight the implementation of Violeta Points in the 14 provincial and 52 regional offices, as well as the initiative of the A Coruña offices to elaborate a "Protocol at the provincial level for the care of victims of gender violence, especially in employment offices". The deputy delegate said that “this government works every day for equality, for the eradication of gender violence, public service spaces, and the people who work in them must be active agents in the fight against male violence.”
During the visit, María Rivas thanked the provincial director of the SEPE, Estefanía Pita, for “the work of all the staff of this Service”, especially in the implementation of the reform of the level of assistance contained in Royal Decree-Law 2/2024, which will involve the modification of unemployment benefits, accompanied by a technological modification that will mean the implementation of a new computer application for its processing. He concluded by pointing out that the investments made “show once again the commitment of the Government to improving infrastructures in order to provide better spaces for public services, both for public employees and employees and for users.”
