The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, visited this morning a new office of the Public Service of Employment of Cangas, together with the general director of the SEPE, Gerardo Gutiérrez Ardoy, and the leadership of the Public Service of State Employment of the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy. The provincial director of the SEPE, Teresa Rama, also participated in no event.
The opening of this new office, which began in March and serves the entire region of Morrazo, is part of the program of renovation of facilities that is being undertaken throughout Spain. Gerardo Rodríguez valued the coincidence of this visit with the positive evolution of the labor purchase and the constant reduction of unemployment figures within the framework of the reforms and active policies being implemented by the Government of Spain.
The deputy delegate put the Cangas office as an example of the Government’s commitment “to improving the infrastructures of the SEPE and the care services offered therein”. The new facilities are located in a 900 m2 venue at number 37 on Lugo Avenue. The 7 public employees of the SEPE work there, in addition to the workers of the Employment Service of the Xunta de Galicia. These facilities, he added, represent “a qualitative leap” with respect to those that were previously in Rodeira. Losada also took the opportunity to thank all the staff for their work “providing quality care in a matter as sensitive as the one that is attended to here and that this Government, always attentive to the people who need it most, takes special care”.
Gerardo Gutiérrez, held a meeting with the staff of the SEPE, in which they addressed the needs and challenges facing the office of the Morrazo. Along with him were also in Cangas the assistant general director of Unemployment Benefits, Ana Climent, and the deputy assistant director, Juan Manuel Callejas.
During the visit, which lasted for more than an hour, they valued the functionality of the facilities, completely accessible, their open design and also the operability for the attention of the public, given that this office serves more than 15,000 appointments per year. In addition, it was stressed that Cangas, like the rest of the SEPE offices in the province, comes from joining the campaign to prevent gender violence with the implementation of a Violet Point.
After the meeting in the Cangas office, they went to the Navia office in Vigo and held a series of meetings with the staff, office directors and section chiefs of the service in the province. The day ended in Vigo with a last working meeting of Gerardo Rodríguez with the four provincial directors of SEPE in Galicia.
