The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, held a coordination meeting with the mayor of Culleredo, José Ramón Rioboo, in which together with the Civil Guard, Civil Traffic Guard and Local Police made a review of the security device for the summer festivities, especially the festivities of Burgo and Vilaboa because they are the events that gather the most public.
With the aim of improving security during the festivities, the subdelegate committed the collaboration of the security forces and bodies indicating that, elderly of the reinforcement of the Command, the device will have the presence of the Citizen Security Unit, Civil Traffic Guard to support both access control on roads and drug consumption, and civilian units to patrol during the festivities.
The deputy delegate and the mayor agreed that this year also include video surveillance systems through cameras distributed in the spaces with the largest influx of public. Both agreed that the reinforcement of means established is for greater security of the people approaching these festivities and highlighted the importance of collaboration and coordination between the State Security Forces and the Local Police to address security needs in this type of celebration.
To this security device, we must also add the presence of Civil Protection, the installation of emergency care points with medicalized ambulances attended from 061. All this operation will be coordinated from an advanced command post composed of Local Police and Civil Guard.
The festivities of Vilaboa take place between the 13th and 16th of July while those of Burgo will be between the 23rd and 28th of July . Since the latter is one of the busiest parties in the metropolitan area of A Coruña, the deputy delegate and the mayor appealed to respect at all times the recommendations of the authorities so that the parties are a guarantee of fun, but also of security and among all of us we contribute to avoid any incident in those events that bring together a greater number of people.
