The deputy delegate of the Government, Isabel Rodríguez, presided today the Local Security Board convened on the occasion of the Indian Ribadeo, which is held this year from July 12 to 14 . Accompanied by the mayor and members of the security forces and bodies, they coordinated the device that will guarantee the correct development of this unique festival of cultural and historical character that goes back to the origins of emigration and for which a large influx of people is expected one more year.
The deputy delegate congratulated both the city council of Ribadeo and the associative fabric that promotes this event “for keeping alive the tradition, which also works as an economic and social revulsive for the town and for the whole region of the marina,” she said. In addition, he said that “the subdelegation will actively collaborate with the city council so that Ribadeo has an #exceptional tranquility and security this weekend and can enjoy a date consolidated in time” reported Rodríguez.
In this line, he thanked the work of the security agents in the implementation of the device to ensure the correct development of this new edition. In addition, they coordinated the work for the various events with a marked festive and tourist character that will take place throughout the summer, such as the Feast of the Percebe or the patrons. The Security Board was attended by members of the Civil Guard and Traffic Subsector, Autonomous Police, National Police and Local Police.

The Ribadeo Indiano 2024 is held on the weekend of July 12-14 to pay tribute to returning emigrants. Among its main activities will be various theatrical performances and visits, concerts, exhibition of classic vehicles, workshops or film days. The old town will be decorated for another year and the people attending usually bring the main atmosphere to the festival wearing #vintage costume for the occasion.
