The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, presided together with the mayor of Betanzos, María Barral, the meeting of the Local Security Board held this week, in which a review of the security device was made during the summer holidays. Both wanted to highlight the collaboration and coordination between the State Security Forces and Bodies and the Local Police.
The first of the events will be the Franca Medieval Fair of Betanzos, which will take place from June 11 to 14, a fair that has a very special meaning for the entire neighborhood of the municipality, and in which “we will reinforce the security device with the presence of the Citizen Security Unit, Civil Traffic Guard to support on roads, a boat for the party of Os Caneiros, and civilian units for patrolling throughout the holidays. An important reinforcement of means, with which we want to respond to the request of the city council. However, we also appeal to respect the recommendations of the authorities at all times so that these dates are a guarantee of fun, but also of security,” said Rivas.
Both for the Medieval Fair, and for the rest of the festivities of the month of August, the subdelegate, expressed to the mayor, the total willingness to collaborate with the City Council from the Government Subdelegation and from the State Security Forces and Bodies to, in a coordinated way with the Local Police and municipal services, establish the necessary devices to avoid any type of incident in those events that gather a greater number of people during the festivities.
The subdelegate also wanted to value the work of information and prevention that is developed from the “violet points” and announced that efforts are being redoubled to fight against male aggression, also remembering that this is an action that belongs to the whole of society so she urged to have zero tolerance with male and sexist behaviors during the holidays, remembering that anyone can and should denounce them.
