The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, highlighted this morning the importance of digital innovation to expand the impact of the policies of dynamization of the territory in rural Lucense. This was stated in the presentation of the web tool “aldeasvivas.gal” hosted by the Tax Agency, an initiative that is part of the project “Smart Territory” promoted by the Montes y Valles Orientales Rural Development Group and the Galician Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, and which has an aid of 190,137.28 euros granted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge.
Accompanied by the president of the GDR and mayor of A Fonsagrada, Carlos López; the president of the FEGAMP and mayor of Vilagarcía de Arousa, Alberto Varela; and the director of AGADER, Mº Paz Rodríguez; the subdelegate influenced “the opportunities of this new digital window open to the world, which brings together in one space information, services and opportunities for the promotion of housing or job creation.” In this regard, he stressed that “this Government was the first to put on the table policies to face the demographic challenge, granting for the first time direct aid for this purpose.”
He took advantage of his speech to congratulate both the GDR and the FEGAMP “for their work to develop projects of socio-economic dynamization and territorial reactivation, always relying on the much needed associative fabric to meet the demands and needs of their neighbors.”
In addition, the subdelegate defended the work between administrations and with entities and associations attached to the territory, noting in particular “the state policies against depopulation through the improvement of public services for rural inhabitants, which also allow to promote the implantation of new inhabitants through integral support that welcomes their vital projects.”
He ended his speech by reaching out “on behalf of the Government to achieve a territorial rebalance that guarantees, in this case for the Lucense mountain and the 13 municipalities that are part of the GDR, equal opportunities for all people, regardless of where they live”.
