The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, went to the city of Teo where she attended the II Emergency and Security Day, in which an exhibition of media of the National Police and the Civil Guard took place, where nine different intervention units were deployed, and which was open to the whole neighborhood.
On the part of the Civil Guard, Citizen Security units, the Mobile Office for Pilgrim Care (OMAP), the Helicopter Unit (UHEL), the Special Rescue Group for Mountain Intervention (GREIM), the Group of Specialists in Underwater Activities (GEAS), El Seprona, Civil Traffic Guard and two Carballeira Squads were present. On the part of the National Police, he went to the Canine Unit.
These second days had various activities, with demonstrations by specialists from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., who faced simulations in the face of various disasters, incidents or criminal situations. In this way, the attendees had the opportunity to see the performance of several units such as the canine unit or the mountain rescue group, and they were also able to see and know the materials available to the State Security Forces and Corps through the exhibition of them on the esplanade of the Oza Common House.
The deputy delegate of the Government, María Rivas, wanted to highlight the “importance that the citizens, but especially the girls and raptors, can get to know the different units of the National Police and the Civil Guard, as well as the protocols of action in different situations”, in this sense she pointed out that this type of exhibitions and media exhibitions “are a good tool to work also in the awareness of prevention, and reinforce confidence in the bodies and security forces”.
In the same way, it wanted to value the work they carry out throughout the territory and above all types of daily situations, such as information and attention to pilgrims along the way, but also in the face of emergency situations, also highlighting the willingness to collaborate and get involved in this type of activities promoted by local administrations.
