The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted the commitment and action of the government to improve the management of wastewater in Galicia, where it allocated a total of 130 million euros. Pedro Blanco valued the action of the Government in Santiago de Compostela, “where it is satisfying historical needs with historical investments” through the execution of the cleansing news of A Silvouta, which is undertaken by the company ACUAES, and which will be operating “in full performance” in 2026. This action, which involves an investment of 60 million euros (VAT/VAT excluded), consists of the construction of a cleaning report that will treat an average flow of 52,000 m3/day, as well as the connection to the network of existing collectors and the execution of an electrical report.
Pedro Blanco pointed out that this work is “another sample of the municipality’s status as the government that I represent”. And he recalled that A Silvouta joins other actions carried out by the Government of Spain in Poio, Sanxenxo, Ponteareas and A Illa de Arousa.
Pedro Blanco also took the opportunity to assess the work of the Government of Pedro Sánchez in the capital of Galicia, “where it is making a better city through its infrastructures, such as the links of the Orbital and the Orbitaliño, very necessary and demanded for a long time”.
Better economic conditions
The government delegate made these statements after the act of signing an addendum to the agreement for the execution of the works of the EDAR of Silvouta signed by the state commercial society Aguas de lanas Cuencas de España (ACUAES), of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, with Augas de Galicia and the City of Santiago de Compostela. This addendum was initialled by the por

The addenda signed today raises the percentage of government funding (through the Recovery Plan) to 80%, compared to the 65% provided for in the agreement signed in 2021, reducing the amount that would correspond to bringing the City Council closer. The contribution of the Xunta de Galicia of 10.8 million euros is maintained, although it adjusts its schedule of contributions under the new forecast of execution and completion of the works.
After the signing of the addenda, the delegation traveled to the works of the cleansing news, which if they began last February and progress at a good pace. Currently, the work focuses on the execution of the coarse well, the pumping of raw water in the pre-treatment and in the service gallery located between the primary decantation and the biological reactor.
