The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, attended today the presentation of the fourth edition of the Automobile Fair which, organized by the Association of Entrepreneurs of Agrela, which this year will have 11 participating dealers and which will be held from 13 to 15 June .
The deputy delegate congratulated the Association of Entrepreneurs of Agrela for being able one more year to create synexias and combine the efforts of many people in an event that is already a reference both local and provincial. “This meeting is an inescapable commitment in the motor world for both professionals and individuals, not only because of the number of dealers but also because of the auxiliary companies that arise next to them and that dynamize and grow the sector,” said María Rivas.
The subdelegate stressed the need to bet on sustainable and healthy mobility as a fundamental means on the road to zero emissions transport, which is consolidated as safe but also as sustainable and healthy.
In this regard, he pointed out the government’s commitment to the development of the electric vehicle, which contrasts with its own Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation (PERTE), in which Galicia has a relevant role in technological development and which encourages Galician companies to be participating in it with a project whose value exceeds 55 million euros.
María Rivas recalled the existing lines of aid to favor electric mobility, which already has benefited more than 5,000 Galicians and Galicians through the MOVES program (Moves II and III and Moves Fletas) that have a support of the Government of 50 million euros for the purchase of electric vehicles and the extension of charging points.
In this regard, the subdelegate called on the concessionaires to be involved and collaborate in publicizing this aid among customers and thus contributing to a sustainable energy transition “from the administrations we must make every effort to make the path easier for this transition”, she stressed.
María Rivas stressed that the automotive sector is “crucial and strategic” for the Spanish economy, and also for the Gallega, thus highlighting that the closing data of the year 2023 presented by the Automotive Cluster indicate that it was a record year with 13,000 M€ of turnover and a growth of 12%. A sector that employs more than 24,800 people, 7% more than in the previous year, and represents 14.8% of industrial employment.
In the presentation of this third edition of the Motor Fair, the subdelegate was accompanied by the president of the association of entrepreneurs of Agrela, Begoña López and by the Provincial Deputy, José Ramón Rioboo, among other intervintes.
