Pedro Blanco appoints Eladio Santos as new deputy delegate of the Government in Ourense

The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, today appointed Eladio Santos Martínez as the new subdelegate of the government in the province of Ourense. The delegate transmitted this appointment to him personally at a meeting held this morning at the headquarters of the Government Delegation and in which Pedro Blanco took the opportunity to transfer the objectives for the new stage that is opening in this Subdelegation.

The delegate transferred to the new subdelegate the requirement to promote the projects of the Government for the province of Ourense. With it he reviewed the main investments and programs planned for the province with the objective that these projects and commitments translate into an improvement for the citizenship, productive fabric and administrations of the province, especially the 92 municipalities.

Pedro Blanco highlighted from the new subdelegate his long professional experience, always linked to teaching and close to his land. In addition, Eladio Santos made a career in the municipal policy of O Barco de Valdeorras, making clear a strong commitment to improve the lives of its neighbors and neighbors, evidencing his knowledge of public institutions, in the words of the government delegate. Eladio Santos will take office this Thursday in an institutional act that will be held in the Subdelegation of Ourense.

The delegate showed his satisfaction for this incorporation, relieving the former subdelegate, Emilio González, who ceased for retirement at the end of last April. Pedro Blanco reiterated the recognition of the work carried out by Emilio González during his time at the head of the Subdelegation, an example of professionalism and public service to the province.

During these weeks, Manuel Arias, General Secretary of this Subdelegation, held the position of deputy delegate in office. The delegate thanked him for his work to give continuity to the services of the agency and in the direction of its competences.

The new subdelegate of the Government in the province of Ourense was born in O Barco de Valdeorras in 1964. He is Professor of Secondary Education in the specialty of Geography and History, teaching at the IES Lauro Olmo del Barco de Valdeorras since 2000 and forming part of the administration since 1991.

Throughout his career as a teacher he always participated in the educational innovation teams in aspects such as training in new technologies, reading dynamization, inclusion and equality.

He was councillor for Tourism, Trade and Economic Promotion between the years 2019 and 2023. He is currently the general secretary of the socialist municipal group of O Barco de Valdeorras.
