The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, today made an institutional visit to the city of Vilasantar, where she held a meeting with its mayor, Fernando Pérez and members of the municipal corporation and where they had the opportunity to review the investments of the Government of Spain in this city.
María Rivas wanted to add value to the funds raised through the IDAE for the improvement of energy efficiency and savings in public lighting of the city council and the DUS5000 program through the Government Recovery Plan. Both grants have an amount of 195,657.29 euros and 315,000 euros, respectively, which will mean an improvement in the lighting of the municipality and a significant economic saving in the municipal accounts.
The Government provides 297,000 euros through the Recovery Plan, for a total investment of 381,755 euros, for the implementation of a clean point, an installation that will be a reference in the circular economy.
Another of the topics reviewed has to do with the extension of the broadband program in the city hall through the Single Plan and which is currently in execution. Thus, the Unico 2022 plan has planned to bring the fiber to 497 homes of which 321 have already been installed, being the level of execution is 64.58%. And as for the Unico 2023, 56 installations are awarded in homes of which 22 have been committed, reaching 39.28%.
The subdelegate also wanted to highlight the activities carried out under the State Pact against Gender Violence as another example of the collaboration between the different institutions in this matter, and for which the city of Vilasantar received from 2018 a total of 23,109.21 euros within the framework of the State Pact. The subdelegate stressed that “these are training, awareness and prevention actions that are carried out at the local level and that are very necessary to advance social awareness”, which bring us closer to a level of collaboration between administrations essential to combat gender violence and to contribute to the protection of victims.
At the meeting they also discussed the situation of the N-634 intersection at Sesmonde’s height at its intersection with the AC-840. The deputy delegate conveyed to the mayor the Government’s commitment to this infrastructure and relocyllelle, which is among the priorities of the Ministry of Transport.
In this regard, he recalled that an initial draft of the project has already been made and has to be taken up with the update for a new execution project, within the framework of the new contract of technical assistance services for the drafting of conservation projects in the Demarcation of Carreteiras of the State in Galicia.
This new project will be one of those that will be launched soon and will consist of completely reforming the intersection to respond to the safety parameters that this road requires, being its priority action for better traffic regulation.
The deputy delegate reiterated the Government’s commitment to the smaller municipalities and gathered the city council’s feeling about the importance of this infrastructure for the area.
In this regard, María Rivas stressed the importance that the funds for the improvement of infrastructures, or those of the Recovery Plan and also those of the State Pact against gender violence, are reaching all municipalities and especially the smallest ones. Institutional collaboration is key to promoting the improvement of public services, our environments and above all “it is about ensuring that all people, wherever they live, but especially those living in rural municipalities, have a future in which they have the same opportunities; that ruralidade is not a factor of discrimination but an opportunity”.
