The subdelegate of the Government, Abel Losada, received the Galician Foundation against Drug Trafficking and studied with its leaders the document, which comes from elaborating 20 concrete proposals to improve the fight against drug trafficking. The meeting was attended by Manuel Couceiro and Fernando Alonso, president and manager of the Foundation.
Losada also received the congratulations of the Galician Foundation for the latest police successes in the operations developed by the Civil Guard, National Police and the Customs Surveillance Service in the fight against drug trafficking and which ended with a significant number of arrests and the confiscation of large quantities of drugs, money, properties and also dismantled the logistics for the manufacture of narcotics in different parts of the province.
The deputy delegate applauded the realization of this document, the result of a multidisciplinary work with specialists in the social, police and judicial fields, with proposals, mainly in the legislative field, to “squeeze” in the fight against drug trafficking. This includes actions relating to penalties and their enforcement, bail and embargoes, among other issues.
“A lot is done, but more needs to be done,” agreed the Foundation’s officials and the deputy delegate. Without forgetting, they stressed from the Foundation that police work is only a part that must be complemented with social work to achieve the rejection of the drug trafficker.
