The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, approached the city council of La Baña, where accompanied by its mayor, José Antonio Pereira, she attended the implementation of the new program of the Tax Agency, aimed at people over 65 years old who reside in municipalities of less than 3,000 inhabitants. This pioneering program allows to make the declaration of income through video call in a space offered by the municipalities and attended by support staff, those neighbors and neighbors of more than 65 years who reside in the adhered municipalities and who request it.
In the province of A Coruña this new tool designed by the Tax Agency will be available in A Baña, A Capela, Frades, Irixoa, Lousame, Monfero, Santiso and Toques. To all of them, the subdelegate wanted to thank them for their commitment and collaboration, since “they made the effort to participate in this pilot test that launches AEAT, in which they contribute with the provision of spaces and support staff so that taxpayers can make their income declaration through a video call.”
The 8 municipalities that joined the province in this first year, and that are part of the initial pilot project, add a total population of 15,976 inhabitants, of which all people over 65 and who want to present their declaration can do so through this new system. In this way, when they request an appointment they will be offered the possibility of the video call so that with their appointment they will only have to approach the city council to be attended by the staff of the Tax Agency being able to present their statement in the video chat itself.
This new service launched by the Tax Agency is in addition to those already in place such as the “Administration near you” or the program of rural posters; all these initiatives are aimed at bringing the administration closer to the citizens of the rural, especially the elderly, so that they know and have the possibility to carry out procedures from their municipalities and without having to make long trips.
The subdelegate indicated that today the implementation of the statements is under way after the deadline for requesting a prior appointment was open since April 29. From this year and after the start of this pilot project, the municipalities of Reto Demográfico of the province that wish to do so, will be able to add this program.
