The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, supervised today in Antas de Ulla (Lugo) the implementation of the new program of the Tax Agency that offers face-to-face assistance to elderly people living in rural areas to present the income statement from their municipalities through video call. Pedro Blanco verified in first person the operation of this service that more than 30,000 people who live in the 50 concellos of the Demographic Challenge adhered to the program, all of them of less than 3,000 inhabitants, can use from today.
The government delegate verified the usefulness of this initiative accompanied by the mayor of Antas de Ulla, Pilar García Porto; the subdelegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez; the delegate of the Tax Agency in Galicia, Miguel Cárcaba; and the delegate of the agency in the province, Mª Elena Rosende.
Pedro Blanco valued in situ the effectiveness of the service, which he described as “pioneering and innovative, with the double objective of bringing the General Administration of the State closer to the citizens of small municipalities and minimizing the consequences of the digital divide between generations to facilitate the life of the elderly”. He encouraged potential beneficiaries to participate in this program, stressing the importance of “offering the possibility to carry out procedures from the concellos themselves, the institutions that are closest to the neighborhood.”
The government delegate in Galicia thanked the mayor of Antas de Ulla “for her willingness and interest in joining initiatives that are positive in the lives of the elderly in her municipality, which shows that collaboration between administrations improves the lives of citizens”. In addition, he extended these words by thanking the local governments of the 50 concellos adhering to the program. At the moment, this initiative is in a first pilot phase, so that more municipalities of the 158 that make up the calls of Demographic Challenge in Galicia will be able to join.
Program operation
Requests for an appointment can be made until June 28 in the respective consistorial houses and through the electronic headquarters of the Tax Agency, along with the other advisory services it offers. When a neighbor or neighbor of these municipalities requests an appointment to make the income statement, they will be offered to make it through a video call. With the appointment already in hand, you will only have to approach the consistory to be attended by staff of the Tax Agency. In the same video call you can already leave your statement presented.
In addition to the possibility of requesting an appointment at the electronic office, the Tax Agency offers these appointment telephones with personal attention: 91 553 00 71 on 901 22 33 44 (from Monday to Friday, from 9 to 19 hours).
