Pedro Blanco presents in the rural a pioneering program for those over 65 years old to make the income declaration in their concello

The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, informed today in Taboadela (Ourense) of the new program of the Tax Agency that already offers in this campaign to the elderly of the rural municipalities of Galicia the possibility of making their income statement by video call. Pedro Blanco traveled to Taboadela to supervise the implementation of this initiative in Galicia, which will be available to the 34,000 people over 65 years old living in the 52 concellos adhering to the initiative, all of them less than 3,000 inhabitants. In this presentation, the delegate was accompanied by the mayor, Álvaro Vila; the deputy delegate of the Government in Ourense, Emilio González; the delegate of the Tax Agency in Galicia, Miguel Cárcaba; and the delegate of this agency in the province, Carmen Paula Pintos

Pedro Blanco framed this initiative in the Government’s policies to bring the services and efforts of the General Administration of the State closer to the citizens of small municipalities. He explained that this new service is added to the existing ones such as the “Administration near you” or the program of rural posters, both with the purpose of making rural citizens, especially the elderly, know and have the possibility to carry out procedures from their locality.

The government delegate in Galicia had words of thanks for the local governments of the 52 municipalities that collaborate with this program, since they made the effort to participate in this test that the AEAT does by providing the spaces so that taxpayers can receive the video call with the necessary privacy. At the moment, this initiative is in a first pilot phase, so that more concellos of the 158 that make up the calls of Demographic Challenge in Galicia will be able to join the program as well.

The Tax Agency shows its sensitivity to elderly people who live in dispersed centers, “whose well-being is guaranteed with initiatives such as this, which allow these people not to go through difficult times when trying to do something as everyday as their income tax return, or do not have to travel to a city to receive help,” in the words of Miguel Cárcaba.

Program operation

The appointment for the service of preparation of statements by video call can be requested from April 29 , starting the service as such on May 7. Requests for appointments can be made in the respective county councils and through the electronic headquarters of the Tax Agency, along with the other advisory services it offers. When a neighbor or neighbor of these municipalities requests an appointment to make the income statement, they will be offered to make it through a video call. With the appointment already in hand, they will only have to approach the city council to be attended by staff of the Tax Agency. In the same video call you can already leave your statement presented.

In addition to the possibility of requesting an appointment at the electronic office, the Tax Agency offers these appointment telephones with personal attention: 91 553 00 71 on 901 22 33 44 (from Monday to Friday, from 9 to 19 hours).

City councils adhered

In Galicia there are 52 municipalities benefiting from this service by the program, in this first pilot phase: 8 municipalities in the province of A Coruña; 19 in the province of Lugo; 18 in the province of Ourense; and 7 in the province of Pontevedra.
