The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, made today an institutional visit to the Concello de Muros in which she had the opportunity to review together with the mayor, María Lago, the investments of the Government in the municipality, which exceed 1.8 million euros.
Specifically, the subdelegate and the councilor from Murcia, verified the progress of initiatives such as the UNICO broadband program, which will provide high-speed internet connection to 782 homes and families that until now lacked this service, or housing actions.
In this regard, María Rivas recalled that the Concello received 1.4 million euros from the Recovery Plan through the Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings (PIREP), which manages in part the Xunta, for the rehabilitation and improvement of the IES Fontexería, and also through the Ministry of Housing itself, 300,000 euros for the rehabilitation of the historic center of the villa.
Finally, the subdelegate pointed out that, in terms of tourism, Muros is benefiting from the Ria de Muros-Noia Tourism Sustainability Plan (PSTD), together with the municipalities of Noia, Lousame, Porto do Son and Outes. This plan, which has a budget of 2 million euros, includes among other actions the reinforcement of the coastal path of the Muros-Noia estuary, betting on the opening of new sections for people and bicycles, parking areas for bikes and motorhomes, and the organization of use in protected areas.
The plan also includes the enhancement of the cultural itinerary to Santiago, with the opening of historical sections in disuse, the improvement of non-coastal urban centers in the itinerary or the enhancement and signaling of resources of the mines of Sano Finx.
The Government’s investments in the town are complemented by the 32,952 euros received by Muros under the State Pact against Gender Violence.
María Rivas, who signed the golden book of the town, thanked the councilor of Muros, María Lago, for her welcome and pledged to continue working hand in hand to continue improving the lives of the residents of the town.
