The subdelegate of the Government, Abel Losada, reported on the 8.73 million euros that comes from the approval of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility for the work of conservation of the national roads of the northern area of the province as a step forward and good news to act on the 167.4 Km that cross the counties of Deza-Tabeirós -#Terra de Montes and Arousa-Ullán, “which need a settlement as soon as possible after the adverse effects of the last storms.”
The works will be carried out on the roads N-525 (border with the province of Ourense to Lalín and from Lalín to the border with the province of A Coruña) and the old stretch on the crossing of the N-525la, the N-550 (from Caldas de Reis to the border with the province of A Coruña), the stretch of the old route of the N-550la in Caldas, on the N-640 (from Vilagarcía to Agolada) and also on the crossings N-640la, and finally on the access to the hospital of Salnés. All the actions correspond, therefore, to sector 1 of the province, framed around the conservation center of A Estrada.
The contract has a duration of three years with a possible extension of two and another nine months and includes as a novelty that the bidding companies must include in their offers the calculation of the carbon footprint that they will generate during the execution of the actions on each stretch of road. Companies must commit to submitting a decarbonization plan in the first six months of the contract.
The subdelegate also announced that the Ministry of Transport is working together with the Demarcation of Roads and the Government Subdelegation to launch an emergency contract that will improve the condition of the firm on the A-52, A-55 and VG-20 motorways in the Vigo area, in order to correct the existing deficiencies. Abel Losada trusts that this dossier will be completed as soon as possible to provide a solution “to an obvious problem that is causing complaints from the users of these very justified channels”.
Abel Losada indicated that the Ministry also values the possibility of launching, in parallel to multiannual conservation contracts, other types of actions based on framework-contracts focused exclusively on the renewal of the firm, a new administrative modality that fits in with the political news of the Ministry of Transport to give budgetary priority to conservation actions over the implementation of new infrastructures.
