The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, today presided over the security board in which the device responsible for ensuring security was finalized in the 38th edition of the Rally of the Berberecho of Noia. The meeting was attended by those responsible for organizing the test, as well as the Civil Guard, Traffic Subsector, Provincial Traffic Headquarters, local police, Civil Protection personnel and representatives of the municipalities through which the test will take place.
After the meeting, the deputy delegate of the Government called on the organization, the participating runners and especially all the public who will gather to witness the passage of the Rally on the roads of the province, to “be respectful of the signage, comply with the instructions of the staff who will take care of the safety of the event and, in the case of the spectators, always stay within the spaces delimited for them”.
The deputy delegate took the opportunity to congratulate the team El Berberecho for organizing this event, in which a total of 133 riders will participate and which is part of the Galician rally championship, and also because this year the team celebrates its 50th anniversary. The rally, for its part, celebrates its 38th edition and will bring together at the wheel of two World Rally Cars (WRC) the driver Victor Senra and his father, Manuel Senra. There will be a third WRC piloted by Alberto Otero.
The start of the race will be on Friday 19 in Noia, where there will also be the race direction and the closed park, while the work park will be installed in the town hall of Lousame. On Saturday there will be 4 stages of double pass through the municipalities of Lousame, Rois, Ames and Brión.
María Rivas also pointed out that this year’s edition will pay tribute to Diego Mayo, a Noiés pilot who was part of the team that died on December 24 in a car accident at the age of 25.
