The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, María Rivas, attended today the coordination meeting with the Xunta de Galicia and the Concello de Ferrol for the implementation of the first phase of the traffic diversion of the humanization of the Avenida de las Pías (FE-14).
This meeting, which continues the working meetings held at the end of March, addressed issues such as the detours planned at the end of April, which will affect the streets FE-11 and Marqués de Santa Cruz, but also the hobbies on the bus routes, establishing new itineraries that will not involve the modification of the stops on any of the lines; the correct signaling of the detours; the protocols of monitoring them for the control of the retentions, and the placing in macha of means to attend the claims of the works.
On this last issue, the subdelegate pointed out that the construction site on Calle Venezuela, where the meeting took place, will serve as a citizen’s office where, from 9 to 14 and from 16 to 19 hours from Monday to Friday, neighbors can request information or submit complaints or suggestions regarding the works. In addition, he noted, an email (ferrol@eptisa.com) and a telephone line (981318684) were enabled for the same purpose.
In relation to the new diversion, María Rivas pointed out that the forecast is that from the end of April the second phase of the diversion operation will be activated, which will consist of putting into service Avenida del Marqués de Santa Cruz, connecting Caranza with O Bertón and the FE-13, and cutting the FE-11, maintaining all pedestrian crossings, as agreed by the three administrations affected. In this way, the commitment to maintain pedestrian traffic at all times in Calle Nueva de Caranza, FE-11 (Highway of the Trench) and Marqués de Santa Cruz is fulfilled.
Remodeling of Las Pías Avenue
The remodeling and humanization of the avenue of the Pias will transform the physiognomy of the main entrance of the city, creating a boulevard of more than one kilometer in length and connecting at the same level the neighborhoods of the environment. This action is included in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
The subdelegate recalled that last March, the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility announced an increase in the initial budget by 20% to assume an improvement in the execution of this work. In total, it will be 11 million euros, 1.7 M€ more than the previous budget, to improve this action “and carry it out with the least possible inconvenience”.
