Abel Losada invites the City of Gondomar to take advantage of the full potential of the Master Plan

The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, co-chaired this morning the Local Security Xunta of Gondomar, together with its mayor, Francisco Ferreira, in which the impact of the Master Plan for Security and Coexistence in Educational Centers and their Environments was addressed. The deputy delegate asked for the maximum collaboration of the City Council so that these talks, offered by the Civil Guard to train the educational community in the prevention of the commission of crimes, also reach, in a very special way, the group of mothers and fathers. Abel Losada stressed that last year’s data indicate an exponential growth of participating students throughout the province, but it is necessary to emphasize that the activities are also offered, in a specific way, to the Associations of Mothers and Country (ANPA).
“Today, new people are exposed to risks arising mainly from the emergence of technologies, and families need support and a useful #tool to be alert and detect early warning signals,” said Losada. The City Council of Gondomar will collaborate to provide information on the wide range of training activities of the Master Plan to the group of mothers and fathers.
The Xunta Local also addressed the optimization of the collaboration between the Civil Guard and the Local Police in traffic, as well as last year’s crime statistics. In this regard, Abel Losada stressed that Gondomar is a very safe city council, since it records a crime rate, a figure that indicates the number of crimes that occur per thousand inhabitants, of 29.58 per thousand. “This number is lower than the province average, which is 36 per thousand, lower than the regional average, which is 35.2 per thousand, and is far from the national average, which is 51.2 per thousand.” And while it is true that last year there was a 15% year-on-year increase in the number of crimes, the number of people arrested and investigated also increased by 36%, reaching 121.
Finally, the subdelegate highlighted the rate of clarification of crimes, close to 60% and that evidences “the important work of the Civil Guard, in close collaboration with the Local Police, in this locality”.
