The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, today called for cooperation between administrations, security forces and educational community to promote coexistence in schools and institutes in Galicia and “ensure that training, the acquisition of civic values and personal growth are protagonists in these spaces”. This was pointed out at the inauguration of the III Training Day on the “Master Plan for Coexistence and Improvement of Security in Schools and in Their Contours”, the operational program of the Ministry of the Interior aimed at guaranteeing and promoting a culture of security in the school population.
This day, organized by the Education Area of the Government Delegation, brings together today in the Pazo de Mariñán (Bergondo) more than 75 people representing the school community of Galicia and the State Security Forces to analyze the challenges of coexistence and security in the educational centers of Galicia. Among them are the trainers and trainers of the National Police and the Civil Guard who carry out the formative actions of this Master Plan. The government delegate addressed them, acknowledging a dedication that “goes many times beyond what corresponds to the position”, and that last year it was translated into 4,160 talks and training actions in 995 educational centers in Galicia.
The delegate recalled the growing impact that the Master Plan has in Galicia, as shown by the figures that it reaches year by year: “In 2023, about 125,000 people attended these training sessions, of whom 112,000 were boys and girls and the rest were teachers and parents and guardians.” To these figures he added the 14,000 vigilance in the contours of schools and the ongoing work of advice and advice on school safety issues.
Along with the delegate, the Mayor of Bergondo, Alejandra Pérez, the Deputy Delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, and the Provincial Deputy and Delegate in Education of the Provincial Council of A Coruña, Yoya Neira, participated in the inauguration ceremony.

The Conference will address in four different thematic round tables that respond to the demands transferred by the people who do the training in the educational centers and by the management and teaching teams themselves. On this occasion, four colloquiums will be held throughout the day, which will be about addictions, mental health, sexual harassment or access to digital money. Experts, trainers of the National Police and Civil Guard, heads of associations and companies from sectors related to the different topics will participate.
The day will be closed at 6 p.m. by the Government’s deputy delegate in A Coruña, María Rivas.
