Maceda, April 1, 2024.- The deputy delegate of the Government in Ourense, Emilio González, and the mayor of Maceda, Uxía Oviedo, co-chaired this morning the third meeting of the local Security Board of the municipality in which they analyzed in detail the data on citizen security during the last year. The Deputy Government Delegate welcomed the Uxía Oviedo for whom it was the first meeting of its kind that they are holding during their mandate. Emilio González highlighted the great reception that the Master Plan has in the municipality of Maceda that in this course will double the talks in 50% in the educational centers of the villas and increase the themes and diversify the themes.
The Subdelegate highlights "the great importance of this type of activities so that students can detect and become aware of certain situations and obtain tools to tackle them". In addition, an index on the need for parents to have an impact on the knowledge and theme of the talks and encourages schools to continue to request them."
During the 2022-2023 academic year, 5 talks were given in primary and secondary schools on bullying; drug and alcohol consumption and gender violence. In this course, the topic will be expanded with lectures on the use of new technologies. Likewise, surveillance devices will continue in the vicinity of educational centers to prevent drug trafficking, consumption and possession, as well as all types of violent behavior.
MACEDA MUNICIPALITY SAFE
Emilio González pointed out that data on citizen security indicate that the crime rate of the City of Maceda is one of the lowest in the province of Ourense. The subdelegate of the Government stressed that during the year 2023 there was a decrease in the number of infractions with respect to the same period of the previous year of 30%, especially in relation to crimes against heritage.
In addition, the subdelegate urged the prevention and implementation of dissuasive campaigns for the prevention of crimes against people. The Government’s deputy delegate also highlighted the work of the Civil Guard and the Local Police, whom he thanked for their efforts to ensure and guarantee citizen security thanks to the great collaboration between the bodies.
