The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, highlighted in a meeting with the mayor of Outes, Manuel González, the government’s commitment to small municipalities betting on their ecological and digital transformation. Pedro Blanco was interested in the initiatives promoted by the Concello in line with the social dynamization from the local.
Pedro Blanco highlighted how the government tends hand in hand to the concellos to advance their improvement and territorial dynamization, “with the focus always on the benefit that this type of actions have for the citizenship of municipalities such as Outes and also for their business and labor fabric.” The delegate and the mayor reviewed at the meeting the government projects in Outes, amounting to almost 3 million euros. The green transition plays an important role in the investment of the Government, which through the Institute for Diversification and Energy Saving (IDAE) finances with about 800,000 euros the improvements in energy efficiency in Outes.
In parallel, the improvements in the use of water in Outes have their best example in the integration of the river Tines within the urban nucleus, in addition to the creation of an island of biodiversity in the Conchido area. This is a unique space with perfect conditions to host an optimal ecosystem for different species in coexistence with human life. They also addressed the possibilities and initiatives framed in the Sustainable Tourism in Destinations Plan (PSTD) of the Ría de Muros and Noia, financed by the Ministry of Tourism. In addition, Outes benefits from the UNICO-Broadband program, which is executed by the Government to complete the digitization of the Galician territory. This program will enable a high-performance internet connection and has already covered a total of 772 homes in the municipality.
Finally, the delegate showed the mayor the maximum institutional collaboration and commitment to meet the demands and needs of the municipality.
