The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, reviewed today with the mayor of Bergondo, Alejandra Pérez, the progress of the government projects in the municipality, which add more than 6 million euros in investments to improve services and infrastructures. In a working meeting held in the Delegation, Pedro Blanco, accompanied by the subdelegate in the province, María Rivas, highlighted the commitment of the Government with the municipality, “a fact that is reflected in the unconditional financing to all the concellos of Galicia, with special emphasis on small municipalities such as Bergondo, in which we work hand in hand with the mayor to promote strategic initiatives in environmental sustainability, infrastructure, digitalization or fight against gender violence, among others.”
Specifically, Pedro Blanco and Alejandra Pérez valued the progress of the works of execution of the roundabout in Guísamo, in the National VI, as it passed through the municipality, and the mayor transferred the specific problems that are arising during the execution. In terms of road safety, the action that the Government is taking in National VI in Cortiñán and the possibility of transforming the urban section of Guísamo into a crossing were also put on the table. In this regard, the councilor asked the delegate to speed up these works as much as possible.
In addition, they addressed the rehabilitation work of the Consistorial House that is being executed by the City Council with an aid of 457,000 euros from the Government Recovery Plan, through the Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings (local PIREP) of the Ministry of Transport. They also took advantage of the meeting to examine the technical project to stabilize the slopes of the O Regueiro beach, which is in the public exhibition phase, and which includes the cleaning and installation of protective mesh on the slopes, the realization of a protective wall and a pedestrian path to facilitate transit to the coast.
“Investments focused on meeting the needs and demands of the neighbors of Bergondo, with a clear commitment to face the demographic challenge and avoid the depopulation of the Galician rural,” said Pedro Blanco.
Both the delegate and the mayor highlighted the collaboration and coordination between the two administrations with the desire to continue working to make projects of special relevance for the future of the town a reality.
