The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, participated yesterday in the placement of the commemorative banner of March 8 on the balcony of the headquarters of the Subdelegation of the Government in A Coruña. At the event, which was also attended by the head of the Gender Violence Unit of the Subdelegation, Manuela Vilaboy and other workers of this administration, María Rivas claimed the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez with the policies of equality, “one of its signs of identity”.
The deputy delegate stressed that these are policies that directly affect the quality of life of women, “those that favor more work, better contracts, better pensions and more possibilities of conciliation.” In this regard, subrayó stressed the importance of continuing to develop employment policies that will guide us towards real and effective equality in the workplace, that will put an end to the wage gap and that will lead to a greater presence of women in the areas of management of companies.
The banner, which will be displayed on the balcony of the Subdelegation until the end of next week, is one of the actions of the agenda of the Delegation and the Subdelegation of the Government on the occasion of the 8M, which began last week with the presentation of the first Violet Point of the Public Service of State Employment (SEPE) in the province. The events of the Subdelegation are complemented by training sessions for professionals on the legal framework applicable to foreign women victims of gender violence, held also yesterday, and an act of recognition to the role of trade union organizations in the development of the events of March 8 that will take place next March 12 in Compostela.
