The Government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, held a working meeting in Madrid with the Secretary of State for Tourism, Rosana Morillo, with whom he reviewed the different investments of the Government in this matter in the community.
The delegate and the Secretary of State highlighted the more than 200 million euros dedicated to programs such as the Tourism Sustainability Plans or heritage recovery actions for tourist use, among others, that allow the Government funds for this matter to reach 1 in 3 Galician concellos. In this sense, they valued the Government’s effort to increase the competitiveness of local tourist destinations in Galicia, betting on a tourism model of quality, more sustainable, digital and capable of increasing territorial cohesion.
In the course of the meeting, Pedro Blanco and Rosana Morillo also took the opportunity to analyze projects and initiatives in tourism to develop in the different territories of the community and highlighted the importance of the funds of the Government Recovery Plan when de-seasonalizing the offer and taking advantage of the strengths of a community such as Galicia in aspects such as gastronomy and its rich cultural and natural heritage.
Finally, the Government delegate thanked the Secretary of State for her work and involvement with Galicia and invited her to know about the territory the different actions and investments of the Government that are allowing the modernization of the Galician tourism sector, making it more competitive and attractive to tourists.
