The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, held today a meeting with the National Police with the objective of analyzing, together with the agents who intervene directly in the activities, how the new instruction is being implemented in relation to the actions derived from the Master Plan for the Improvement of Coexistence and Security in Educational Centers and their Environments.
In the meeting with the subdelegate, the Provincial Commissioner of A Coruña, Fernando Javier Martínez Marty, together with heads of the A Coruña, Ferrol-Narón, Ribeira and Santiago de Compostela police stations participated; Xosé Lois García Carballido, Director of the High Inspection Arena for Education and José Manuel Alfeiran Rodríguez, High Inspector of the Functional Area, also attended.

In this sense, already in the data analyzed from the year 2023, a notable increase in the participation of relatives or legal guardians of the students can be seen. While in 2022 a total of 549 relatives and legal guardians participated in the activities, in the year 2023 the figure of 1,379 was already reached.
This new framework also extends the number of topics on which actions in schools can focus, ranging from areas related to environmental protection, to the prevention of sexual crimes or trafficking in human beings.
At the meeting, it was analyzed how the National Police is being strengthened, to give a better response to this expansion of topics, updating the training to the trainers who then impart the activities in the centers, and also, studying how to establish channels to reach new groups and new spaces. In this sense, some experience implemented through sports entities and clubs was valued as very positive.
Regarding other data on the evolution of the Master Plan, María Rivas, wanted to point out that there was also a threefold increase in the number of teachers who participated in the plan: 1,950 during the year 2023, when in the year 22 there were 602.

With these data, a total of 41,509 people participated during the year 2023 in the different activities programmed within the Master Plan in the province of A Coruña, which reflects the good reception and the good functioning of the Plan.
